SCREAM

a series of illustrations made for the launch campaign of SCREAM LAND. A local amusement park that I have yet to visit. Seeing these on billboards and with those huge dots make me go "Oh, yeah!".

I actually liked how these turned out.

Maria Montez. The Queen of Technicolor as she has been known was not only a legitimate Hollywood star in her own right but she was also Dominican-born. This here is my depiction of her for the Tribute Expo celebrating her life and career. If you happen to be on Santo Domingo these days and would like to know and see more of her like Movie posters, bio pics, awesome costumes and some of the best portraits that the local Dominican talent have to offer just go to the Fine Arts Palace (Palacio de Bellas Artes) and be sure to check both floors because this expo is Hollywood-Star-sized!

Party

This was a commission for an Anniversary Party to be mailed (physically, mind you) to the very special guests. In the event , party goers were in for a cool and cartoony surprise.

Yo see, my client, MAENO & Co. a small but all-reliable PR & Events agency, wanted to surprise all of his clients with a personalized cartoon of each and every one of them framed and exposed in a large hall on the reception as a way to acknowledge their support. I had the privilege of creating all of the 83 cartoons and in a certain way it was my first individual gallery expo. I will always be thankful for this chance and to Maeno for challenging me to do what I otherwise would think is impossible.

where's Sobeida?

This is a screen-shot of local digital magazine "LENGUA". An art magazine that showcases the work of Dominican artist created around a specific theme on each issue. This here is from the 'Carajito' issue (Kiddie Issue) which explains the 'Where's Waldo-ish' nature of this spread along with some social issues of concern at that time.

WHY SO SERIOUS?

An old speed-paint I did a while ago.
